QHNEWS -- The 1,500-ton item of dehydrated magnesium chloride, undertaken by the Magnesium Industry yielded its first batch products in mid-January, marking a significant forward step in comprehensive utilization and development of salt resource in Chaidam.

    The successful utilization of magnesium has spanned a historic pace in China's kalium fertilizer production.

    Magnesium chloride is the gangue expelled when producing kalium chloride, a kind of fertilizer in agriculture.

    Statistics show that magnesium chloride reserve in Charhan Salt Lake comes second next to the Dead Sea, 87% of the nation's total. The dehydrated magnesium chloride can sell at a price between 6,000 and 8,000 Yuan per ton.
