QHNEWS -- With a view to protect the Sanjiangyuan Area, a resettlement block for 468 households of migrant herder families, who previously lived in the Gyaring Lake Township (Zhalinghu Township) of Madoi County of Guoluo Prefecture, has been built and electrified. It's a piece of pleasing news from Dawu Town , capital of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
The ecological-protection-purposed resettlement is an effective measure taken to conserve the biological environment of the Sangjianyuan Area, where the three great rivers ,the Yellow River, the Yangtze River and the Langcang River originated from. Qinghai Provincial Government has been carrying on the Graze for Green Project extensively and the migrant resettlement is a part of the project. Herder families living in ecologically frangible areas are collectively transferred to small liveable towns that are available of water and electricity supply. The Electrified new life makes the herders farewell to their nomadic life. Electrical home appliances are not scarce anymore. Editem (July 1, 2005)
