QHNEWS -- From mid-July, female Tibetan antelopes have been beginning to return to their habitat after giving birth around the Zhuonai Lake and the Sun Lake.

In June every year , antepartum female Tibetan antelopes begin to migrate from their habitat in flock towards the two lakes a-thousand-miles away. After giving birth, they remigrate back to their habibat with their babies.

Their migrating journey is full of hardships and dangers, as it is very laborious to move for the pregnant antelopes; on their returning trip, the female Tibetan antelopes need to take care of their newly-born babies in despite of weakness after labour. Their may be hurt by natural enemies as vultures , wolves and foxes along the trip.

Moreover, they live in places with atrocious climate . It's really a tough challenge during their annual migration.

The remigration of the Tibetan antelopes may last untill the middle of September. To prevent unexpect injury of the Tibetan antelopes , work staff of the Administration of the Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve closely pay attention to their move.  Editem (July 20, 2005)
