Chinanews, Beijing, August 26 – The world-famous Shaolin Temple in Henan Province initiated a TV program with TVB and Shenzhen TV to select a new “kungfu star” from all around the world.

The program will divide the world into several divisions: Chinese mainland, US, Australia, Britain, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The arenas of the Chinese mainland division will be located on the Wudang, Huashan and Emei mountains, where 36 kungfu practitioners will be selected to study in the Shaolin Temple. However, only very few of them will eventually make it to the finals. By the way, the semifinals of the event will be held on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Unlike other “pop idol” shows and amateur kungfu competitions, all the contestants will be professionals. Thus the program will be very exciting.
