Zang Mi, or The Riddle of Tibet, features famous Chinese dance artist Yang Liping, and dancers of Tibetan ethnic groups from Gansu, Yunnan, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces as well as Tibet autonomous region. The production tells the story of an old woman's pilgrimage to her homeland. Onstage, Tibetan trinkets complement the floral costumes and unique folk dances.

This new production is Yang's follow-up to Dynamic Yunnan (云南映象)which enjoyed a long run at the Kunming Theatre and sold out at other venues across China.
The talented Yang first rose to prominence in 1986 after she won a national contest with her interpretation of the Dai peacock dance.
Dubbed the "Peacock Princess", Yang is a fluid and natural dancer. The Riddle of Tibet is a milestone in her dancing career, featuring more than 3,000 costumes, traditional folk songs, and original Tibetan musical instruments.
