The central government has earmarked some 4.8 million yuan (about $676,300) to build two hospitals for leprosy patients, one in Yushu autonomous prefecture and the other in Huangnan Tibet autonomous prefecture in Qinghai province.

The goal of the project is to provide better care for people living with the disease. The hospitals will be completed and open their doors by the end of this year.
